Well-know for having ideal surf conditions all through the year, Santa Teresa’s main attraction are definitely the consistent waves for both novice and expert surfers.

La Lora Surf Spot (and Suck Rock)

Advisable for advanced surfers, with a long, white sand and rock-free beach its waves are consistent, making it an ideal spot to host surf competitions. This is the most popular in Santa and therefore it can be pretty jammed.

Together with this spot we find another one known as "Suck Rock" where waves are quite big (up tp 20-ft waves). It’s good for beginners only when the waves aren small,and we need to be careful when the swell comes from the South because the rocks tend to suck you into them as the name suggests.

Mar Azul, Malpais

Located in the heart of Mal Pais, this is a popular spot which is rearly crowded and good for intermediate or advanced surfers and longboarders. Good in high tide and a large swell coming in.

Playa Hermosa

Never crowded and with two good spots for surfing: one with a wide break on a flat beach and the other on a north point break. Always be careful here with the rocks in the water. Ideal for novices because its rip currents are not strong.

Playa Carmen

Located between Mal Pais and Santa Teresa, Playa Carmen´s rip tides cause weak waves making this spot a perfect one for beginners.
